Recorded by BILLY PIERCE on ONE FOR CHUCK
Sunnyside: SSC 1053D / Recorded April 6 & 7, 1991
||Medium up swing
1st part: Trumpet, Alto Sax, C treble clef
2nd part: Tenor Sax, Alto Sax, Trombone
Rhythm Section: Piano, Bass, Drums, Guitar
This melody is playable by a moderately skilled jazz group. It requires the horns to phrase straight 8ths in unison as well as making some off-beat entrances that require a good internal sense of time.
SOLOS: The changes are challenging, but a good example of the advanced harmonic language that a modern jazz musician should be familiar with.
